Sonny Balani, an Accelerator participant and owner of Balani Custom Clothiers, Inc., was mentioned in the Wall Street Journal in an article highlighting the use of new Web-marketing services by small businesses.

In October 2009, Balani Customer Clothiers, Inc., utilized Groupon and offered a promotion where consumers could spend US$95 for US$225 worth of services at the tailor shop.

Balani sold 850 Groupons in a day, the maximum the four-employee shop determined it could handle.

"We were all over Twitter and Facebook that day," says Sonny Balani, adding that normally the tailor shop, which posted US$1 million in revenue in 2009, sells just 100 gift certificates a year.
