Lawrence Cruciana, an EO Charlotte member and president of
Corporate Information Technologies, has been selected to receive a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) All-Star Award for his work teaching middle school students about computers through the McClintock Partners in Education program. "We have some amazing stories that have come out of this program.
I've heard from three kids that they now want to go to college to learn how to do this as a profession. This computer club has opened up an entire new world of possibilities for them," says Lawrence.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools STEM All-Star Awards program is a new initiative to recognize teachers, administrators and staff, and community partners who have made significant contributions to help students grow and learn by participating in science, math, engineering and technology programs and activities.
