altMeet Hana Laurenzo—one of the many entrepreneurs who discovered a wealth of learning and possibility in the EO Accelerator program.

When Hana Laurenzo launched her translation business in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2007, she did what every smart small business owner does—joined local professional organizations, like the chamber of commerce, and generally sought opportunities to mingle with like-minded professionals. But it wasn’t until a client told her about the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) that she felt she was on to something special. There were just two problems: She wasn’t yet at the million-dollar mark in revenue which would allow her membership and she felt the Accelerator program in Dallas was too far away from her relatively young business. So, Hana waited.

The right time came in 2016 when Accelerator launched at EO Forth Worth. Hana applied, was accepted, and knew right away that Accelerator was just what she had been looking for. “From my first day of learning, I was amazed. I was amazed at how much I really didn’t know. But also amazed at how open and sharing other participants were.”

Though Hana had run her first translation business in Eastern Europe before moving to Texas, USA, with her husband, she admits that for the first few years running TLC Translation in Texas, she did not know much about financials. What is worse, she says, “I didn’t have much interest in learning. I was so uncomfortable with financials that I just avoided them. I handed over most of my books to an accountant and CPA and focused on those aspects of the business I knew best and felt more comfortable with.”

Surrounded by other open-minded, respectful and eager-to-learn entrepreneurs in Accelerator, Hana faced her finances and worked tirelessly on her Accountabilities Tracking tool—the program’s method for guiding and holding accountable participants as they work toward US$1 million in annual revenue. She relished the accountability of her peers and advisors.

“I’m not aware of any other organization that lets you learn at this level. It’s so far beyond any other professional group. It’s for people who are hungry to learn, to grow and to thrive,” Hana says.

Hana reached her goal and graduated from the Accelerator program in April 2016. She is now a full member of EO—and takes advantage of many of the opportunities for learning and benefits to membership. She is the EO Forth Worth Forum Moderator, has applied to take part in the EO Mentorship program, and looks forward to the annual Global Learning Conferences, where she is impressed by the caliber of speakers. Hana’s husband recently joined their local Spousal/Life Partner Forum, where he is the only male among a group of hardworking female entrepreneurs.

Hana Laurenzo is among nearly 100 Accelerator 2016/2017 graduates. Congratulations to all of the EO Accelerator participants!
