About EO Bulgaria

About EO Bulgaria

Entrepreneurship in Bulgaria is shaped by transformation. EO Bulgaria reflects that momentum, bringing together founders who are redefining business in one of Europe’s most rapidly evolving markets. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital and economic engine, the chapter draws from the country’s deep intellectual talent, strategic location, and growing global reach. Since Bulgaria’s transition to a market economy, the private sector has expanded across technology, manufacturing, finance, education, and more. EO members in Bulgaria lead ventures ranging from export-oriented industrial companies to fast-scaling software firms. Others are driving growth in real estate, healthcare, consulting, and sustainability-focused services. The variety of industries represented speaks to a business climate that rewards adaptability and long-term vision. Bulgaria offers clear advantages to entrepreneurs. It has some of the most competitive tax rates in the European Union, a multilingual workforce, and a strong infrastructure for cross-border trade. Its geographic position makes it a natural bridge between Central Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus region, opening doors for regional expansion. EO Bulgaria members often operate internationally while keeping their businesses rooted in local expertise. What makes the chapter stand out is its mindset. Members are focused not only on scaling their businesses, but also on building the future of Bulgarian entrepreneurship. Many are engaged in mentoring, education reform, and ecosystem-building, supporting emerging founders and advocating for better alignment between business and policy. That civic commitment runs deep. EO Bulgaria is for entrepreneurs who want to lead with purpose, compete on a global level, and shape their country’s future through business. The chapter is forward-facing, impact-driven, and closely connected to the broader EO community in Europe and beyond. For those ready to grow with intention, Bulgaria offers both the infrastructure and the ambition to make it happen.

The main reason I joined EO was to grow my company, and I believe it is a great place to learn from the experience of tens of thousands of entrepreneurs. I stayed in EO because I realized that in order for a business to grow, the people growing the business need to grow too. And I discovered that this is an even bigger and much longer journey. I continue to be an EO member because I see how the organization changes every day. I am changing, everything evolves, and what you can gain from EO is actually so much more than what you could take away in a single year. I continue learning and meeting many different people, people who become friends and with whom I learn and grow together. That is truly unique.

I joined EO because I’ve always liked being part of an international organization. When I started doing business in Bulgaria, I felt like I had become part of something very small. That’s how I found my way to EO. The moment I attended an international EO event, I felt that sense of being part of a large global organization again. Seeing what is happening in other countries and different markets, and hearing the perspectives of other entrepreneurs, enriches me enormously. Another very important part of EO for me is my Forum - the feeling of being part of a family of people with whom I’ve shared so much, and who are my support group. That’s what brings me back to EO every month.

I joined EO because I didn’t want to miss out on something important. Two of my friends joined, and I followed them. I’ve stayed in EO for six - seven years now because I receive so much more than I ever expected, in so many different areas of my life. I will continue renewing my EO membership because I want to be wise, not just smart. I learn from the mistakes of the people around me, which they openly share and that constantly adds value to my life. In EO Bulgaria and around the world, I now know so many people. I’ve learned so much. And I continue to learn, becoming better and better both in life and in business every day.

I had made the decision to radically change my life, and I realized that I needed support - people who think like me, who have been in my shoes, and who can understand me. I stayed in EO because there are people here who can help you, support you, and be your coach in any situation, whatever it may be. Whether it’s about your children, your partner, your own fears and internal barriers, or your business, you always find someone who asks you the right questions and connects you with the right person. This motivates me not only to continue my EO membership but also to give back to the organization. I believe every entrepreneur deserves an environment like this – a community where they have the kind of support and opportunities that we have within EO.
