About EO Iowa

About EO Iowa

In Iowa, entrepreneurship doesn’t make headlines—it makes impact. At EO Iowa, we’re a group of founders who understand that lasting success isn’t built on flash, but on grit, community, and smart, sustainable growth. We’re proud to represent a state where business is rooted in values, and where ambition is paired with humility. Our chapter spans industries as diverse as agriculture, finance, technology, manufacturing, marketing, health, and retail. From the innovation corridors of Des Moines and Cedar Rapids to small towns brimming with big ideas, our members are building companies that support local economies while scaling to national and global markets. Whether you’re leading a fourth-generation family business or launching your first startup, EO Iowa is a place where you’ll be seen, supported, and challenged to grow. We value honesty here. Our forums are grounded in trust and vulnerability—places where founders can speak freely about the pressures of leadership, the weight of decision-making, and the personal journey behind the business. Our learning events are practical and purposeful, with topics that meet us where we are: navigating growth, leading people, finding balance, and creating impact. Being an entrepreneur in Iowa means knowing your customers by name—and also knowing that your business decisions affect real families, communities, and futures. That’s a responsibility we carry with pride. Many of our members are deeply involved in local mentorship, philanthropy, and public service. Because for us, success isn’t just about profit—it’s about purpose. EO Iowa is where big ideas grow in quiet places. Where leaders lean on each other through the highs and lows. And where the strength of your business is matched by the strength of your character. This isn’t just the heartland. It’s the starting line—and we’re building something powerful, together.

EO Iowa has been a part of my entrepreneurial journey since I graduated college. From the early days, I leaned on the EO community to learn and grow as a business leader. I joined the EO Accelerator program, needing to round up to meet the $250,000 revenue requirement. Within the 2 year program I was over the $1M mark and eager to join EO as a full member. The growth, opportunity, and once in a lifetime experiences I've experienced as an EO member have led to business, personal, and family gains!

EO Iowa has been one of the most valuable investments I’ve made in both my personal and professional growth. It has connected me with an incredible group of entrepreneurs who understand the unique challenges, risks, and rewards that come with owning and leading a business. Through Forum, chapter events, and leadership opportunities, I’ve gained new perspectives, meaningful accountability, and relationships that extend far beyond business. EO has challenged me to think bigger, become a stronger leader, and be more intentional in every area of my life. Most importantly, it has given me a trusted community where I can be honest about both the successes and the difficult moments of entrepreneurship. I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships, experiences, and growth EO Iowa has brought into my life.
