About EO West Africa Chapter - coming soon
West Africa is not one market. It is many markets, languages, economies, and business cultures operating beside one another. For entrepreneurs, that complexity is not background information. It can shape everything from how a company reaches customers to how it expands across a border. EO West Africa turns that diversity into the foundation of the chapter. Instead of organizing around one city, members gain perspective from entrepreneurs working across a much wider regional landscape. Their operating environments may differ significantly, which makes the conversations more valuable rather than less. Regional integration is also changing what is possible. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) adopted its 2023–2027 E-Commerce Strategy to strengthen digital commerce, improve cross-border trade, and support greater regional economic integration. In 2025, ECOWAS launched a Regional E-Commerce Committee to advance that work. For entrepreneurs, those developments point toward a future in which neighboring markets can become increasingly relevant to growth. EO West Africa creates a community for leaders thinking at that scale. Members can learn from entrepreneurs navigating different regulatory systems or customer expectations without pretending those markets are interchangeable. A business challenge in one country may reveal a useful lesson for someone operating somewhere entirely different. The broader EO community adds another layer. Members can form relationships beyond the region while staying rooted in the realities of building in West Africa. That distinction matters. EO West Africa does not flatten the region into a generic story about African entrepreneurship. Its strength comes from putting different experiences beside one another and letting entrepreneurs learn from the contrast. One chapter does not make West Africa one market. It does something more useful: it gives the people building across those markets a reason to know one another.
