Areej Al Medinah

Areej is the co-founder of ConnectHear, a social start-up that promotes deaf inclusion in the society through sign language interpretation services and training of interpreters. At ConnectHear, technology and social design is leveraged to allow 10 million deaf individuals in Pakistan have access to sign language interpreters in one click through video interpretation. This would enable independent communication for deaf individuals in Pakistan, and all over South Asia eventually, empowering them to do the simplest of tasks for instance talking on a phone call, consulting a doctor or more important ones such as calling an ambulance in emergency.
