Diana Miranda

  • Round: Semi-Finalist
  • Country: Nicaragua
  • Company: DITEX
  • Region: LAC

Diana founded DITEX to contribute to the socioeconomic development of women and the textile industry in Nicaragua. The textile design company produces and distributes homegrown articles and clothing made by Nic women to provide them jobs that provide them with healthy work-life balance as wives, mothers, and caretakers. Her biggest obstacle has been convincing potential customers that Nicaraguan products are comparable in quality to imported goods and play a positive role in developing the local community. She was selected to participate in the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) through which she received trainings in the United States and was able to broaden her company’s vision. Her defining core value is to leave a mark: “I want our brand to be a reference that there is future for Nicaragua’s national production, and we do not have to envy the rest of the world in terms of quality and design”.
