
Kaitlin McDermott is the founder of Social Hour, as well as a senior at Samford University studying Marketing and Finance. From Dallas, Texas, she has over five years of social media marketing experience and got to witness and recognize the increasing importance of short-form media, or microcontent, during this time. Throughout her college career, she had the opportunity to work in several marketing internships that have increased her expertise and need to create engaging content that appeals, grows and converts a social media audience to benefit a business. From this, she launched Social Hour, which came from a need to reinvent social media marketing and accommodate to the decreasing attention span of users on social media platforms. Social Hour seeks to increase overall engagement and conversions of user to consumer of the brand by utilizing microcontent that tells a story and connects with an audience.
