Bea co-founded Prima Facie with her high school classmates believing that she could be part of a solution to flooding, a perennial problem in her country as well as an inspiration to others to become catalysts for change by running a socially responsible enterprise. Prima Facie’s products, Ananda and Reis, combine water hyacinths which clog waterways and synthetic leather into a pair of comfortable sneakers and sandals. She envisions Prima Facie as a local company which will revitalize their country’s once thriving shoe industry and eventually a global brand expanding to markets where water hyacinths also impose a grave threat.
