U.S. logistics entrepreneur Lynn Anstett becomes chair-elect for FY2022-2023
and chair for FY2023-2024, leading global network of 17,000+ entrepreneurs
Alexandria, Virginia, USA (18 July 2022) – The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) is proud to announce American business leader Lynn Anstett as its chair-elect for FY2022-2023 and chair for FY2023-2024, after Anstett’s 10 years of active membership and service in the nonprofit network.
As the sixth female chair in EO’s 35-year history, which includes its initial years branded as YEO, Anstett’s election is a well-aligned step forward for the international network that is working to build a more inclusive and diverse peer community of small-to-midsize entrepreneurs in 60+ countries on six continents. Anstett brings to the role knowledge on effective business ownership built from successfully founding and scaling her own transport logistics firm, which is a sector leader in North America today.
Since becoming a member of EO in 2012, Anstett quickly volunteered to serve in various leadership roles in support of the organization and her peers, joining the board of directors as membership chair and driving strategic alliances for the Cincinnati chapter. Later, she became its president-Elect and president. By 2018, Anstett was taking on regional leadership positions in the network, aligning and growing multi-state initiatives that set accountability frameworks and achieved many levels of success that continue for EO’s Central U.S. region today. Anstett was elected to EO’s Board of Directors in 2021, which sets strategy and drives global priorities for the 17,000+ member-network.
In her new position, which covers FY2022/2023 and FY2023/2024, Anstett, alongside new Chair Marc Stöckli and the board, will continue to support the transformational work that EO has achieved in the last years, positioning the network for exponential growth in the coming decade.
Of her election, Anstett said, “After 10 years of experiencing the gifts that this supportive professional network has given me, I am truly honoured and humbled to be chosen as its future leader. That said, I believe the success of any organization is not dependent on one person, but the team. It does not matter who gets credit for certain accomplishments. What matters is that we create an environment for our teams and members to learn and grow together.
“Through EO, I have built many peer-to-peer relationships that have helped me become more self-aware and confident as a leader for my family and my business. I plan to partner closely with our chair this year, as well as our board and regional leaders, so that I am ready to pick up the mantle and help our member entrepreneurs realize their full potential as problem solvers, job creators and community change makers.”
Anstett’s entrepreneurial journey began in 1995, with the launch of her transport logistics business, Stett Transportation Inc. Founding it from the basement of her home while raising three young children, Anstett quickly learned how to parlay her success into opportunities for others. Today, her company offers cost effective solutions to handle chemical freight safely and efficiently throughout North America, while donating dollars for every load moved to the local nonprofit she created —Stett4Kids— which gives underprivileged youth in greater Cincinnati the chance to succeed. Stett Transportation is an Inc. 5000 business that is recognized as one of the nation’s finest in logistics management, and one of the largest woman-owned logistics firms to also be certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Anstett’s expertise includes: scaling a business, creating a healthy culture, sales and operational processes with accountability and social entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurs’ Organization CEO, Dr. Carrie Santos, noted that the 2022-2023 fiscal year that will prepare Anstett for the chair position will see nearly one-quarter (24 percent) of all leadership positions across the entrepreneur network held by women, a historic high and progress point for the organization that has been proactively working to recruit more diverse CEOs and leaders during Santos’ tenure.
“We are absolutely delighted that our board elected Lynn to serve as their leader for next year. Not only is she an accomplished entrepreneur, private business owner and member of this organization, she is a person who engenders trust, inspires positive impact, and creates possibilities for future generations of founders and professional contributors. I admire how she leads with empathy and integrity and look forward to partnering with her and our leadership team to make EO the well-known, in-demand and impactful organization we know it can be.”
