10 February 2025 (Vienna, Austria / Virginia, U.S.) —The Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) proudly announces the launch of EO Austria, its 24th chapter in Europe and its 222nd chapter worldwide. This newest chapter, strategically located in Europe’s center, strengthens EO’s reach and community in the region, and enhances connectivity between Western and Eastern Europe.

A highly developed, industrial and service economy, Austria is seen by many business owners as a hub of stability and skilled talent, making it a natural base for a new community of entrepreneurs to network, learn and grow together. Austria is also home to some of Europe’s largest startup investor communities, providing an additional advantage for businesses on a path toward scaling.

EO’s Regional Chair for Europe, a 10-year member from the EO Greece chapter, Andreas Konstantinou, described the importance of the newest European entrepreneur community. "This launch is the latest example of EO’s growing momentum in Europe, attracting some of the most bold, open and future-minded business owners into a trusted peer community built on trust and connection. With 24 active chapters in Europe helping EO members connect across borders and industries, and more coming soon, what we are seeing is the growing recognition that entrepreneurs can achieve even more if we learn, grow and lead the way forward, together.”

EO’s journey in Europe began with the launch of its first chapter in 1995. Since then, EO has expanded its presence in Europe with 24 chapters in 17 countries.

EO Austria was launched with 25 members, with half being under the age of 35. Collectively, the entrepreneurs represent companies in more than 10 industries ranging from marketing and consulting to construction and real estate. To qualify for membership, entrepreneurs may be of any age, gender, culture, or industry, but they must be the owner, founder or majority stakeholder of a business earning a minimum of US$1 million in revenue during the most recent fiscal year.

EO Austria was founded by three members: Christian Chaléat a dual member of EO Hamburg and EO Munich and Austrian business entrepreneurs Thomas Klein, and Marcel Sattler. Chaléat will serve as the new chapter’s first president, a leadership role he comes to after 14 years of EO membership in other chapters and more than 25 years of entrepreneurial experience.

EO has been invaluable in my growth as a leader and a person. Our ambition for EO Austria is to establish it as a central pillar within EO’s global community, supporting entrepreneurial growth with a strong focus on young founders and women entrepreneurs.” Chaleat explained.“Over time, we envision Austria evolving into a hub of innovation and collaboration, with the chapter actively contributing to the broader EO mission. This includes expanding EO’s presence throughout Austria, with future chapters in cities like Innsbruck, Salzburg, Graz, and beyond, creating a network that spans the entire country.”

Sattler, who runs an international advertising agency, was drawn to EO Austria for its opportunities to expand his network and learn from peers.

Entrepreneurship is thriving in Austria. According to the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), more than 40,000 small and medium-sized businesses are set up in Austria. The FFG invests over 100 million euros annually to support startup businesses.

Austria’s capital, Vienna, has been recognized as the world’s most livable city in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index for 2024. The city received a score of 100 for stability, healthcare, education, and infrastructure and a score of 93.5 for culture and environment. Beyond Vienna, where the chapter will be based, Austria offers stunning alpine landscapes of Tirol, and breathtaking beauty of the country's other regions that are rich in art, history, and culture.

EO Austria held its first event in October, a Personal Brand Deep Dive. The chapter’s official international launch party is scheduled for 24 April 2025 in Vienna and members from chapters worldwide are invited to attend.
