30 May 2024 (Alexandria, VA, U.S.)- The non-profit Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) announces the publication of its FY2022/2023 Annual Report today, summarizing a successful past year of learning, connection, innovation and growth. The report offers an elevated look back at last year’s programmatic highlights, regional and chapter achievements, and global financial activities, while complementing the release of the U.S.-registered 501(c)3 organization’s audited financial statements for FY2022/2023.
Among the ways that EO measures success in a year is through member engagement, or participation, in local, regional and global products and events. Some of these events focus on individual learning, while others create opportunities for entrepreneurs to network, exchange insights, and share new experiences in Forums, chapters, and MyEO Groups. Former Global Board Chair, Marc Stöckli, a member of EO Zurich who served in organizational leadership positions for 12 of his 15 years and led the organization in FY2022/2023, shared his reflections on how EO peers can maximize their member experience beyond participation in Forum groups.
“EO membership is like a first-class round-the-world ticket. When I only do Forum, I have this ticket and only ride the local subway. The less passive and habitual we are, and the more curious and engaged we push ourselves to be, the happier we can become.”
Built as a diverse, high-quality community for successful owners of businesses with more than US$1million in annual revenue, EO’s member experience brings entrepreneurs along a journey of connection, learning and peer-supported training. Its inspiring events --filled with keynote speakers and experiential learning opportunities—coupled with its member Forums, Path of Leadership and Executive Education Programs, collectively contributed to a strong 91.4 percent member renewal rate for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, one of the highest in EO’s last five years.
EO’s Annual Report looks back on some of the year’s highlight moments, regional and chapter achievements, and indicators of organizational health with product summaries, member spotlight stories, and detailed data. Notable results for the year were:
- 2,514 new members joined EO
- 5 new EO chapters were launched
- 262 new EO Forums were created
- 13% increase in member enrollment in Executive Education programs
- 3,000+ members volunteered to serve as leaders within the organization
- 1,200+ chapter officers were trained to serve chapter boards
- ConnectEO launched as an app to better connect EO members from mobile and desktop devices, anywhere in the world
Former Interim CEO and current Chief Operating Officer Deborah Rainey added in her Annual Report letter to EO members, “It was a year of continuous improvement and a healthy amount of learning and growth. We Ran EO and we Changed EO. Our Thriving Chapters project has defined what a healthy EO chapter looks like and created a framework of guiding principles and milestones for the continual chapter growth journey.”
The successful growth and impact of the FY2022/2023 year was made possible by US$60.64 million in annual global revenue, which represented a 24 percent increase over the prior year and enabled a business-as-usual return to programming that had been paused or scaled back during the COVID-19 pandemic. Of that, more than 88 percent of members’ global dues was invested back into their experience, with special emphasis on chapter development, members’ leadership training, and the EO Forum moderation and program capacity.
Additionally, there were more than 3,100 EO members who volunteered their time and talents to serve as leaders at the chapter, regional and global levels of EO’s organization last year, delivering on EO’s founding ethos of being led by members for members. Applications for EO’s regional and global Path of Leadership positions exceeded annual targets by an impressive 16 percent.
